The Oxford Martin School at the University of Oxford is seeking to appoint an experienced Events and Venue Manager to manage the School’s events programme and the use of the School’s building as a venue. This post plays a crucial role in the School’s central team: devising, organising and delivering successful events is pivotal to the mission and public reputation of the Oxford Martin School. The postholder will work particularly closely with the School’s Communications team to ensure this ambition is realised.

The postholder will have a good range of experience of delivering high profile events, taking responsibility for creating an attractive programme, as well as the project management and delivery of the programme. The postholder will work with the Head of Development and External Relations to ensure a strategic focus for events.

This is an exciting time to join the Oxford Martin School as we approach our 20th anniversary. The Events and Venue Manager, in particular, will be critical in supporting the design and delivery of our celebrations. This will coincide with the first meeting of our refreshed Advisory Council.

The post holder will also be responsible, under the guidance of the Head of Administration and Finance for the day-to-day management of the Oxford Martin School as a venue. This will include planning and practical organisation of events, venue management of the lecture theatre, seminar rooms and other spaces, promotional work and responsibility for elements of Health and Safety and liaison with the University’s Facilities Management team.

  • The post is full time and permanent. It will include work outside of usual office hours, usually evenings and occasionally weekends.
