Building Diverse, Inclusive Events Through Multilingual Support

ABPCO is embarking on a collaboration with the Association of Translation Companies (ATC) to deliver best practice guidance for increasing the diversity and inclusivity of events through multilingual language support.

The Association of Translation Companies is a leading UK trade association for language services, and its 245 member companies provide multilingual translation and interpreting support to businesses and organisations across the world.

Responsible for the creation of the new best practice guidance are the ATC’s CEO Raisa McNab and Commercial & Collaborations Lead Sarah Bawa Mason.

“Multilingual support at international events and conferences is not just a nice-to-have, it can completely transform delegates’ experience of the event and significantly increase the event’s diversity and inclusivity. In building this guidance, we will be working closely with the ATC’s member companies specialising in the events industry, drawing on their experience as well as that of ABPCO’s members with their wide-ranging expertise,” explains the ATC’s Sarah Bawa Mason.

ABPCO’s Director Heather Lishman is looking forward to working with the Association of Translation Companies: “ABPCO is dedicated to empowering and supporting our members in delivering exceptional conferences that leave a lasting impact. Ours is a vibrant community of industry professionals who are passionate about creating transformative conference experiences. In a global events setting, multilingual support is one of the critical ways our members can deliver equitable, impactful experiences to their clients’ event and conference delegates.”
