£36,000 raised for Meeting Needs as event industry figures run 13 miles

Event industry professionals raised more than £36,000 for charitable foundation Meeting Needs last Sunday by joining 16,000 others to run 13 miles through London’s royal parks.

It was a record figure for the event industry foundation’s eight years of participating in the Royal Parks Half Marathon with a record number of 39 runners taking part and sponsored by Cvent, an industry-leading meetings, events, and hospitality technology provider.

After months of hard physical training and fundraising, it was the perfect reward for Meeting Needs participants to enjoy a bright, dry day for one of London’s most extraordinary events when young and old gather to raise cash for their favourite charities.

Kate Conway, the Meeting Needs trustee who oversees the assembly and participation of the team, said: “It was the best ever in terms of participation and fund-raising and we were all delighted with the results. Our thanks go to all who trained so hard for us and raised money for our charitable projects as well as Cvent for their invaluable contribution.”
