P&J LIVE IN ABERDEEN SET TO HOST WORLD AGRITOURISM CONFERENCE IN 2026

P&J LIVE IN ABERDEEN SET TO HOST WORLD AGRITOURISM CONFERENCE IN 2026

Aberdeen’s P&J Live, Scotland’s largest live events venue, has been selected as host venue for the World Agritourism Conference, taking place from 23 - 25 June 2026. The three-day international conference is set to attract at least 1,000 delegates and will showcase the diversity and growth of Scotland’s agritourism sector to a captive global audience.

Aberdeen Convention Bureau, P&J Live and Visit Scotland Business Events worked closely to support Scottish Agritourism with the bid to bring the conference to Scotland, with the main host City as Aberdeen. P&J Live was selected after a six-month bidding process within the global agritourism sector.

Steve Daun, Head of Association Sales at ASM Global, P&J Live’s operating company, said: “We are delighted to be chosen to host this global event, showcasing the very best of Scottish agritourism, following a strategic team approach with our industry partners. We worked to present a strong bid that highlighted the venue’s strong sustainability credentials, presenting the very best of Northeast Scotland’s natural larder, which will be crafted by our in-house chefs and served up to every delegate during the conference.

Caroline Millar, Sector Lead for agritourism in Scotland, said: “One of the key criteria in the bidding process was the showcasing of named agritourism farmers and local food and drink in the produce served during the conference and the P&J Live inhouse chef team helped tremendously to assure the judges this would be delivered. As farmers and crofters it is fantastic to be working with a major events venue which gets the importance of showcasing our food and drink to international visitors and we look forward to working with the team at P&J Live and other partners over the next two years to finalise every detail of the conference.”

Neil Brownlee, Head of Business Events, VisitScotland, said: “VisitScotland Business Events are delighted the World Agritourism Conference is coming to Scotland in 2026. This will be a great event for Scotland and Aberdeen, with delegates able to spend some time in other parts of Scotland, including the Royal Highland Show and the Edinburgh area, before heading to Aberdeen for the main congress at P&J Live.  We are especially glad to see business events being used as strategic platforms to develop and promote key sectors in Scotland like Agritourism. Business Events can help achieve national policy goals when they are targeted and fully aligned with key sectors and specific national outcomes.  This time, the right coalition of stakeholders can see the value and impact an event like the World Agritourism Conference offers and have made it happen.  I’m sure the delegates will be blown away by our hospitality, warmth and welcome, and by the Team Scotland approach when they visit in 2026.”

Delegates will also be given the chance to attend a pre-conference programme in the Edinburgh area, including the Royal Highland Show, as well as engaging in pre- and post-conference tours ranging from one to ten days, including farm and croft visits from Orkney to Dunfries and Galloway.

Chris Foy, Chief Executive of VisitAberdeenshire, said: “We look forward to welcoming delegates to Aberdeen in 2026 and to working with Scottish Agritourism to make this event a success for Scotland. Agritourism is an area where the North-east already excels, and hosting this global convention can be a catalyst for further growth and innovation within our tourism sector.”
