TICK, Ttento, British Tourism Partnership & People 1st

In 1994, ABPCO was invited by TICK (later Ttento – the Travel, Tourism & Events National Training Organisation) to join the steering group and working party for Organisers set up to develop the NVQs/SVQs at Levels, 2, 3 & 4 for the Events Sector.  City & Guilds became the awarding body.

Subsequently, ABPCO was represented on Ttento’s other working parties and advisory groups and joined the Professional Bodies Forum and the SME Task Force of the aspirant Sector Skills Council for Hospitality, Leisure & Tourism – now People 1st.  It was also represented on the British Tourism Partnership.

Some ABPCO members have been or currently are full or part time lecturers at Leeds Metropolitan University (BA Conference and Exhibitions Management), Derby University (BA (Hons) Event Management and MA Event Management), the University of Westminster (MA Conference and Event Management) and the University of Greenwich (Events Management BA).
