ABPCO app commissioned
19 October 2016
A bespoke membership app for the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO) is being created with TFI Group leading the development following a full tender process.
ABPCO’s strategy day in Belfast earlier this year gave the association’s board the opportunity to discuss the thoughts and feedback of its membership from the annual engagement survey. One of the key points raised was that members desired further value when it came to engaging, connecting and sharing with other members.
It was this feedback that prompted discussion about an app that would innovate and offer the opportunity to form a closer connection between members with the sharing of expertise, research and content. The app will also promote the association’s news and events as well as promoting to non-members.
“The app was something that was heavily discussed at the strategy meeting earlier this year and created a lot of excitement amongst us all,” explained Nicole Leida, joint-chair of ABPCO. “Every year we use a survey to gather feedback and opinion from members and it was clear that there was a real desire for further opportunities to share, connect and engage with peers. Not only will the app allow members to do this but it will also give us another tool to promote the association as a whole. The tender process was hard fought but we are delighted to be working with TFI Group on a bespoke mobile application that we believe will really add further value to ABPCO’s membership.”
Some of the main features of the app will be a community chat wall, a calendar of association events, member profiles, feedback questionnaires and a direct messaging facility plus much more to be revealed. ABPCO and TFI Group is hopeful that the app could be ready for download and membership use by the association’s member conference and AGM in January 2017.
“We are very excited to be working on creating something quite special for ABPCO and its members,” commented Adam Said, Account Manager at TFI Group. “The focus of the app is on simplicity, to be intuitive and promote ease of use whilst offering all the tools members need to help them connect with their peers. The app is going to be unique to ABPCO giving the association a real advantage when it comes to not only promoting itself but the work and successes of its members too. It’s an exciting project and one we are very proud to be leading on.”
