Worker Protection Act: What Employers and PCOs need to know

Download Event to Calendar

On October 26th 2024, the Worker Protection Act came into force.  The Act is an amendment of the Equality Act 2010, and the big news as far as changes go is all about your duty as an employer and as a PCO when it comes to sexual harassment.

It is no longer just enough for you to show you’ve got policies and processes in place to deal with sexual harassment in your workplace.

In this session Jacqui will discuss the new law around sexual harassment and walk you through exactly what you need to do.

  • The exact definition of sexual harassment in legal terms, and what you need to be seen to be preventing
  • How “third party harassment” works in practice, and your responsibilities as an employer
  • The step-by-step guide to complying with the new sexual harassment legislation
  • The critical tools and documents you’ll need to stay the right side of law
  • The worst case scenario – what could happen if you don’t take action
