Personal Statement

At Oxford Abstracts our mission is simple: to enable anyone to expertly manage and create exceptional academic conferences. We will achieve this by constantly improving how easy our abstract management system is to use and by incorporating feedback from our clients.

Our software's heart is its ability to submit, review, and decide. We made sure it could handle anything thrown its way but kept it simple to use. By 2019, technology had moved on, so we completely rebuilt our application to stay up-to-date. That big investment made our system not only look better but work better too—it's smart and flexible now.

While abstract management remains our core, we understand there’s a lot more to running an academic event. We expanded our suite to include program management, creating elegant online programs accessible from any device, and an easy-to-use delegate registration module designed specifically for academics. We also offer a service to create presentation certificates for your attendees.

At Oxford Abstracts, we are a bit different, for example, we offer a free package for those with no budget. We believe that money should never be a barrier to scientific research.

I’m Geoff Campbell, the CEO and founder of Oxford Abstracts. Since our humble beginning back in 2004, around a kitchen table in Oxford, we’ve been on a mission to revolutionise how academic conferences are managed. Why We Started Oxford Abstracts Managing abstracts used to be a real headache. Imagine piles of envelopes and faxes being passed around and then having to compile them all into books manually. It was chaos. So, we decided to do something about it and built one of the first online systems to manage abstracts—for a client who's still with us today! The Early Days In the beginning, our goal was simple: to eliminate the huge administrative burden and make the whole process smoother, more reliable, and yes, even fun. We knew that submitting and reviewing abstracts wasn’t exactly anyone’s idea of a good time, so creating an intuitive system that inspired confidence and reduced friction was going to be a huge help. The systems available back then were bulky and complicated, and honestly, many haven't changed much. But with continuous improvement and tons of input from our users, we've managed to stay ahead.
